They came into this galaxy without warning, a vicious race of beings from beyond the known galaxy. Their devotion to their gods wrought unyielding destruction upon the New Republic. Known as the Yuuzhan Vong the race of sadists almost brought the galaxy to it's knees. Behind them lay mangled terraformed worlds lain waste by their powerful armies. The New Republic fell to pieces after loosing world after world, but when the Imperial Remnant came to their aid combining their armies with those of the New Republic and Hapans, forming the Galactic Alliance. This Alliance of independent governments seemed to be just what the galaxy needed to repel the alien invaders. With the Jedi Order taking arms against the Vong as well, the Alliance pushed back. On Coruscant during a decisive final battle the Jedi unmasked the true leader of the Vong and threw the castes into disarray. Broken apart by their social war from within and being crushed under the weight of the united Galactic Alliance, the Yuuzhan Vong struck a treaty of cease fire. Beaten and unable to recover the Vong returned to what remained of their warships and began the trip to return to their galaxy. However many stayed or were left behind to face the wraith of angered civilians and the of the Bothan race. Though the Alliance declared to be at peace with the race of fanatical warriors, they often ran clandestine operations against them attempting to force the few remaining to leave alongside their brethren. The Bothans proved to be more trouble then they were worth as they often became a source of saboteurs of the reconstruction efforts. SELCORE (the senate committee for refugees) had a hard time relocating civilians because their worlds where completely inhabitable or terraformed the the Vong shapers. The Reconstruction Authority often found itself at war with RePlanetHab, a massive corporation that used it's influence in the Galactic Alliance senate to steal planets from refugees. Because they had issued an ar'kai decree the Bothans foiled any attempts to use Vong organic technology to reverse the devastation they had committed on planets in the galaxy creating tensions between the Bothan government and the Alliance senate. Many in the Senate wanted to go to war with the Bothans and disband by military force RePlanetHab, but because the battle of the Yuuzhan Vong was still so fresh in everyone's mind they never pursued the option, instead imposing near useless sanctions and imbargos. The idea of war was still ideal for some, but most wanted to keep the peace as best they could despite growing problems. So instead they leaned on the Jedi whom themselves were still trying to recover from grievous losses. The Jedi Order had been scattered amongst the corners of the Galaxy using various planets as home; but still unable to pull together. Down from hundreds to only dozens, the Order's numbers dwindled even with the close of the Yuuzhan Vong crisis. Acting as a police force for the Alliance following the war having formed an accord with the Order after its end. And another more sinister problem plagued the Order, it was dividing between more conservative members known as the Old Guard and the proactive radical members of the Order, mostly those younger members warped or changed by war seeking to bring about change through any means necessary. Even among the new Master's Council the schism was becoming evident as agreements were harder to come by as the months passed following the Liberation of Coruscant. At the Alliance's beck and call they were stretched far too thin and bowed to the galaxy's will. Exhausted, extended beyond their means, and separating into two sides the Jedi Order escaped Coruscant following an official split. Lost without the aid of the Jedi, the Galactic Alliance turned to it's senate which became more corrupt with each passing day. Evident that they needed the generals turned peacekeepers to help them keep the order the Galactic Alliance split apart itself. The Imperials tired of the failings of the senate and the loss of military strength withdrew their forces and solidified their borders. Angered over the lack of attention in the war torn Hapan sector the Hapan monarchy removed themselves from political discussions with the Alliance and then almost suddenly removed their Navy from Alliance space, returning to their own sector to rebuild what the Galactic Alliance had refused to help with. Things for the Alliance, the Jedi, and the galaxy seemed bleak...

In the eyes of the galaxy the Hutts are a despised, vile species of low morals and of even lower standards. One of the most corrupt and loathed of all the Hutt gangsters was one known as Yenga. His business of spice and slave trade on Ylesia thrived even when the the Y'toub sector was devastated by the Yuuzhan Vong's betrayal. His competition did not see it fit to allow him to continue, rival clans and clan mates conspired against him. Zergu the Elder, the primary opposition to Yenga's operation, pulled together his enemies if only to bring down Yenga's thriving business. The Hutts hired some of the best hunters and assassins they could to kill Yenga. But the vile Hutt anticipated this move and counter paid his would-be killers with sums nearly double their originals. Meeting with their employeers they slaughtered Yenga's competition leaving a power vacuum. Recognizing this vacuum Yenga siezed what piezes of these fractured criminal enterprises as he could and almost overnight became the Galaxy's most powerful independant crimelord and the undisputed ruler of the Y'Toub system. But the Black Sun was not content to allow the Hutt to rival their power and began sabotaging Yenga's operations throughout Alliance and Hutt space. The Exchange, the next largest syndicate after the Black Sun and Yenga's empire sided with Yenga after a deal was struck that would be advantageous to both sides causing a war among criminals. Yenga became determined to win this war of cartels by enlisting the aid of the Trade Federation, a corporation run by Neomodians and known for it's corrupt and illegal activity. Though a broken shadow of it's former self they still produced mass quantities of droids across the galaxy. At a major profit loss for himself (due to his paying Viceroy and board of directors) he commission a small 'security' force to be built. Using this 'security' force he set out to assassinate the Vigo's of the Black Sun in order to consolidate his power. He became successful as the Black Sun fell apart with the death of it's most powerful Vigo. His resources drained and his own operations neglected he did not take control of the Black Sun's remnants as he planned instead withdrawing victorious to the Y'toub sector to manage his own criminal empire. The Alliance in disarray itself was unable to stop this war of criminals, pirates, and killers instead allowing it to go on hoping that they would destroy one another. Yenga was proud of his work and in the years following his battle with the Sun he pulled his empire into an efficent machine. But the Hutt was not done here, instead wanting only to further himself. The Trade Federation had long since abandoned Yenga when he stopped paying off the Viceroy, but Yenga retained his security force of battle droids. The Hutt crimelord felt it best to start cleaning up the Alliance himself, his partnership with the Exchange became very important as their bases outside of Hutt space transformed into staging areas for his affairs beyond the iron fist borders of the Y'toub. Arranging a costly, though beneficial meeting with the Genohardan he managed to assassinate the Galactic Alliance Chief of State using their agents, in order to push them into further chaos. Then coupled with the Exchange he placed a large bounty on Jedi, one the galaxy had seen in decades. Yenga merged with the Exchange, pushing aside the bosses becoming what many believed was the soul head of the syndicate and pushed his Empire to new heights by muscling his way onto the Trade Federation board of directors and eventually scaring the Viceroy into being his puppet. The Jedi in diaspora since the schism between the two factions of conservative and fundamental Jedi suffered countless losses because of the large price on their heads, on both sides. The more proactive members of the Jedi became darker and touched the dark side with less reluctance to combat this threat of assassins and hunters. The Master's Council became worried these liberal members would become something more sinister than just rogues. Yenga's influence now stretching into Imperial space, the Alliance without a figurehead, and the Jedi on the run, the galaxy became a much darker place...

When the Jedi Order split, they pulled apart into two specific factions. Though some chose self-exile, most either sided with the convential members known as the 'Old Guard' and the abolitionist Knights who chose a more radical approach. They viewed themselves as soldiers and warriors and believed that both sides of the Force could be used in unison for the betterment of the galaxy. Even the prestigious Master's Council was divided over the issue. While the Old Guard wished to stay true to the Jedi of days past, the radicals believed a new era required a new type of Jedi Knight. Changed the the Yuuzhan Vong invasion many young Knights saw the fundamentalist view over that of the Old Guard. Hoping for a peaceful resolution, the Old Guard did nothing to prevent the Great Schism of 7 A.T.I (after the invasion). Observing the moniker of rogue Knights, the liberals left the Old Guard and formed a Temple on Dxun from the ruins of the tomb of Freedon Nadd. The Master's Council divided leaving what was once ten of the Order wisest dwindled to only six. The Council elected to stay behind on Coruscant, but the Knights, Masters, and their apprentices scattered to the four corners of the galaxy. The Master's Council advised the Galactic Alliance in the coming years of darkness, and despite the maelstrom of galactic events, the Council held together and kept what little was left of the old Order united. Meanwhile the Rogues flourished under the leadership of their leader Jedi Lord Jorryn Korr. He was the charismatic leader behind the rogue movement and a long time member of the Master's Council, having been a heroic general during the Vong invasion. Lord Korr and his Knights were more active than ever, as pilots of starfighter wings and soldiers in the armies of the galaxy. The Yuuzhan Vong crisis warped his mind, and the tumultous galactic events following caused Master Ferrier of the Council to fall to the dark side. His view of the rogue Knights was twisted by the dark side and thus wished to form a campaign against Lord Korr and his followers. Using their fear against them and his skills as an orator he gained the aid of four other Jedi Masters, two of which were on the Council, in secret. Worried the Rogue Knights would turn to Sith ideals of the strong over the weak, and an obession with power, these four Masters vowed to stop the rogue Knights by any means neccesary. Using the dark side to further distort their fear into anger and hatred, Ferrier and these four Masters descended upon Korr's academy on Dxun. In a pouring rain under the cover of darkness these five struck with vicious fury. Comprised of mostly young, inexpierenced apprentices under Korr's watchful eye the Rogues were no match for the five battle-hardened, war-matured, Jedi Masters and were slaughtered in cold blood. Korr and his closest disciples were the only members that were a match for Ferrier and his group. But in the end they were unable to over come them all, taking with them Ferrier and another they all perished on Dxun save those very few in the field. No longer warped by Ferrier's control the surviving Masters realized their folly and exiled themselves to obscurity. The 'Old Guard' continued on under the wary eyes of the remaining Master's Council who believed the Sith had finally returned. The Council pushed on, adding to their ranks and slowly recovering. Promoting new Councilors to the Master's assembly and adding training praxeums on strong Force-attuned worlds such Ossus, Kashyyyk, and Dantooine. For now it seemed the darkness had passed over the Jedi Order and they returned to the aid of the galaxy, working in unison with all governments having removed themselves from Coruscant. The remnants of Korr's disciples either rejoined the Order or disillusioned, switched off their lightsabers completely. Now having to combat the Exchange's bounty on their heads, the Jedi remained separated. The Master's Council turning to moving between worlds and meeting only in convocation rather than daily after a terrorist attack left two members dead. A few Jedi were assigned to track down criminals in the upper echelons of power in the Exchange, but disappeared or killed in doing so. But despite this, praxeums on such worlds as Kashyyyk and Onderon flourished and gained the trust of those who called these systems home. The Wookiees especially had a good rapport with the Jedi. Yenga and his cohorts believed the low number resulting from the murder of Korr and his followers (which coincided with the bounties) was due to their handy work and rejoiced. Moving to Imperial space as Yenga had to help contain the criminal problem on the capital worlds like Bastion and Cinnagar with pirating and spice, the Jedi were finally starting to recover for the first time in the decade since the Vong. But there was something sinister on the horizon, a threat the galaxy believed itself safe from for over three millennia. The Mandalorians, a race of warriors who once thousands of years ago had lain waste to the Republic and nearly conquered it, returned with fury. Bent on the honor of pure battle they had come back with numbers bolstered by clones of their greatest warriors. Their former Mandalore had commissioned hundreds of clones just prior to the Yuuzhan Vong invasion and they had grown to become fiercesome warriors. Trained in Mandalorian combat techniques and honor bound ideals they were just as ferocious. Striking at the Outer Rim in both Hutt and Alliance space they crushed their opponents and moved on with swift destruction in their wake. They burned whole civilizations to the ground and even fighting Imperials, the Alliance, and Yenga's droids they could not be stopped. They pushed through enemy lines with blinding savagery. That was until the Jedi entered into the fray and the tide of war shifted...
